NatureSoundsMixMud
with Felicity Mangan

In NatureSoundsMixMud sound artist Felicity Mangan comes to Floating University with a variety of equipment. Kids are asked to use different kinds of microphones to record their sounds of Floating University. In a second step they get introduced to sound editing program Audacity and work on their personal Sound Collage. https://floating-berlin.org/programmes/kids-uni/kidsuni-2021/nature-sounds/

A mix of Animal Sound pieces created by Bard College Berlin students during an online workshop I was invited to give on the 3rd of November 2020, as part of the class Playing with Perception led by Nick Houde.

Students recording Skylark birds and insects sounds at Tempelhofer Feld Berlin for my Animal Music Workshop on the 26th and 28th of June, 2020 with Interflugs UDK. The two day workshop was held for one day at Tempfelhofer Feld and one day online where students produced their own animal music pieces. The workshop was adapted according to the weather and pandemic social restrictions set by the city of Berlin.

During the Nightingale season of 2019, I worked with 7th Grade students from the Berlin Metropolitan School to create cut-up bird sound collages. This mix of the student’s sound works was presented in November 2019 at the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin as part of the Forschungsfall Nachtigall closing program as a multi-channel sound piece and visual mixed media installation (Photo). My colleague Ms Kendrick’s class created a mixed media collage imitating the habitat of the Nightingale that accompanied the sound.

Found sound, object and transducer workshop at Burg Giebichstein Kunsthochschule Halle.
